Carly is the type a girl to make lemonade when life gives you lemons. She had booked us for her wedding and then when life took her in another direction she decided to have some fun anyway. Here is Jessica on the day of her grad party. We intend to do a real photoshoot later this month but some of these turned out so well that I couldn't resist showing of the sweet and lovely little Miss Jessica. So I hope everyone enjoys these.

Love this picture and love how the bright pink dress in the sunlight reflects up onto Jessica's face and gives her creamy soft pink skin tones.

I was just lucky enough to catch this ray coming down as she was standing there. Below is a picture that does not have it. I love the one with the rays coming down, but you do see Christina and how beautiful she looked that day, clearer in the bottom picture.

Truly one of the prettiest brides I have ever had the good fortune to photograph. I think she looked amazing.

Absolutely gorgeous. Mikasa you looked perfect and so in love!

My sister , who graciously agreed to help me out at this wedding, snapped this picture. I was scouting locations while she was waiting with the bride and groom. Apparently, Mikasa commented on how sore her feet were. Kevin removed her shoes and gave her a foot message, and my sister snapped the picture. Good work all three of you...Dawn for getting the shot, Mikasa for getting a man willing to do this, and Kevin, for being that kind of man!

We did this wedding shoot at Fish Creek Park in Calgary Alberta, and until this wedding I did not realize this lovely part of the park existed. There were lots and lots of really great locations to take pictures. If only we would have had more time. Ah, the wish of all photographers ...more time and more light!

We found this wonderful old red wagon at the park. I am pretty sure we were not supposed to climb in it and by the look on these two faces I am pretty sure they agree with me.

All I can do is quote what my sister said when she saw this shot, "this really proves white men can't jump." However, in fairness to these guys I did ask them to show me how they thought girls jumped. So there you go girls , this is how you look when you jump...not very pretty is it?

These next two pictures are a couple of the ones we shot the morning before the wedding. I would love to add a few more because Mikasa looked absolutely radiant and very alluring; however, I do not want to risk the wrath of her mother and so this is all this blog gets of this particular shoot.

Now these are Mikasa's pictures from her bridal shoot. If I could do one thing as a wedding photographer, it would be to talk all brides into doing a bridal shoot before the actual wedding day. We did these the night before. I love a bridal shoot because I find brides are excited and happy and not at all stressed or tired from the actual wedding day. We always have fun and I think the pictures show that. Thanks Mikasa for valuing my opinion and going along with me and I hope you think it was worth it.

Mikassa had wonderful hot pink high heeled shoes for her wedding day, but when we saw all the great shoes she had to choose from we realized that it was probably a tough choice deciding which ones to actually wear on the big day.

If only all of my photoshoots went this well. I guess it is true, the eyes say it all and I love this picture and how it seems to speak for itself. I took my sister out with me so she could get a little more familiar with her camera and we just had a blast. Thanks Megan and Dawn. I hope you are both happy with the results of this shoot. I hope Megan treasures the pictures and I hope Dawn learned a little bit , but most of all I hope you both had fun. I know I sure did. And can anyone guess where this location is by the windmills?

Beautiful, beautiful light! Why or why can't it last longer. A few minutes is all you get so you have to make the most of it.

Someday everyone is going know Max and love him just as much as we do. Max needed some head shots for his acting career so we went out and had some fun. As you can see, he has a big personality and is tons of fun to work with. And yes girls, last time I checked he was single.

I have been so lucky to have had the opportunity to photograph some adorable kids over the summer. I love taking pictures of kids. Some love their pictures taken, some you have to persuade and some you have to down right bribe. Girls usually are much easier and like to see themselves in pictures but little boys are usually just too busy to sit still long enough to get a few shots off. Here are just few of my favorite shots.

Now those eyes say it all. He doesn't really want these pictures done, but he is willing to please me! And all it ended up costing me was two transformers and a trip to the water park.

As you can tell, this little man takes everything pretty seriously.

Sorry for the length of this blog, but it isn't everyday one's son gets married...especially to such a beautiful and photogenic young woman. Since the beautiful couple is in Florida and can't get on to facebook at the hotel ( yes, it is killing my daughter-in-law) I had to put a quick blog together for them so they could see some pictures.

I have been so looking forward to doing this shoot! I personally think this couple is just beautiful (okay, I do have a bit of a bias) . They were lots of fun and I only wish we would have had more time. We had lots of ideas and too little time, but still, I think we got the look we were wanting.

A few pictures we did of the adorable little Tasia Rae. We were actually doing a engagement shoot and I had hoped to double up and get a shoot done of Tasia too, but we ran out of time and really only got a few of Tasia. This first picture is taken while she is sitting on the stairs waiting for us to finish up the engagement shoot. She is not too happy about this..mommy said she had to sit and listen and she really wanted to get down and play! I love the look in her eyes here. She clearly would rather be doing anything but sitting on these stairs.

I really have been missing my camera! The weather hasn't been great and work is slow..so I begged my two sweeties to come out and let me take some pictures. And of course, as sweet as they both are, they came out in the cold and let me have some fun. I have a new speedlite (thank you Santa) and we bounced the light off of a gold reflector. Notice the difference in the shots. It was a cold and not very bright day but the gold reflector really warmed up the pictures. I love the pictures and think both girls are priceless. Thanks girls, I had fun.

I know he looks far too young to be an RCMP but he is, and he takes his job very seriously. I had lots of fun doing these pictures with him and got to see a policeman in a whole new light. Dan, himself is interested in photography, and so not only did we have a blast doing these pictures, but we also got to talk photo talk. I even got to show him a few tricks. All I can say is he is an amazing young man and has worked very hard to be able to protect and serve our country and I know his entire family is very proud of him.

Kent and Steph were a pure delight to photograph. They were so much fun and willing to do anything we wanted them to. I could hardly make up my mind about which pictures to put on here. In fact, I feel that there will probably be another blog down the road. This looks like a very happy young lady. She seems to know just how lucky she is!

My Little Sweeties

For months we have been putting this shoot off! Why...an almost two year old monkey! She did not let us down, and we did not get many pictures of her, but we managed to get one and I guess that is enough for now. We had hoped to get a good one of the two of them together but no luck this time. As you can see big sister was quite disgusted by little sister's behavior.

Summer is pretty much over! It was busy for us business wise and we had some really fun shoots. This one we did for an old friend of ours. Sadly, it isn't too often a great looking guy wants us to do his pictures so we jumped at the chance. Not only did he show up but he brought a friend. So two guys for the price of one. What luck for us.

Pretty Little Miss in the Pettiskirt

Now this was a fun session. Take one little girl, dress her up and watch her go! I love this age, not a little girl anymore, not quite a teenager but a little bit of both. She wasn't sure she wanted to put the pettiskirt on but once she did ...she had a ball and looked adorable.

Her crown is a little lopsided perhaps because.....
she twirled, and twirled, and then twirled some more!

Now, what I wouldn't give to have those eyes! So beautiful! I hope I get to photograph her over and over in the next few years as she grows into a beautiful young woman.

Graduation Pictures of the Beautiful and Talented Kelly Ann

Here is our Kelly all grown up and graduating. We did these pictures out at the barn since this is Kelly's home away from home. She plays, works and sometimes even sleeps there. The second picture shows Niki (Kelly's much adored horse) in the background. We would have liked some closer pictures, but Niki was having now of the puffy dress stuff. I guess she probably thought she was next, since she already has a pink bridle and pink shoes!

Could we have asked for a more perfect sunset. The color matched Kelly's dress to perfection!

Wow!!I love how beautiful she is, and that red hair in the evening light ....what a combination. I might be partial to these pictures because they are of my beautiful niece Shjannon and her two little girls, Keira and Kylie. The light was so perfect when we did these and Shjannon just looked gorgeous...talk about making our job easy. I hope she loves them as much as we do. It was hard to stop putting images on here as there were so many I loved.

How adorable are these little girls! Keira , the oldest, was game for pictures! Whatever we needed she was pretty quick to offer...Kylie, her little sister, was not such a keener. As you can see by the picture below she was pretty sure the safest place to be was peeking over her mommy's shoulder.

She really wasn't as sad as she looks in the picture below. I think she was just thinking about how sad it is that the camera does not love all little girls as much as it loves her!

Pretty Little Jessie

We had a lot of fun on this photoshoot! The weather was perfect, the company was grand(including our dancing sideshow), and our model was beautiful. Besides being "to die for gorgeous" she was funny, shy, and sweet. I hope we did justice to her and managed to capture her wonderful personality in our pictures. We are totally loving summer and the beautiful weather that allows us to get out and take pictures with that beautiful summer light! A few weeks ago we did a shoot with these adorable little kids. They were the best behaved children I have ever had the opportunity to photograph. They acted like little professionals.

First Maternity!

So we finally got around to doing our first maternity shoot...which was a bit challenging considering our "barely there draped in satin" idea and the actual weather outside. It was very gloomy and VERY chilly! But leave it to us, these pictures were actually shot in our living room. Talk about a new meaning to bringing the outdoors in! We collected two garbage bags of leaves and spread them over a brown comforter (fun cleanup)! Anyway, we were very pleased with the results and would like to thank my cousin Shara for being such a sport! So please enjoy the final outcome and feel free to leave any comments!

Jaden's Shoot

Here is our ``Jaden Shoot`` and we are very pleased with it. We saw this brick wall a couple of months ago and both of us instantly thought of Jaden and how it would be a perfect place to do his pictures. And lucky for us, both of had the same ideas in our head about how we wanted to do his shoot. As a photographer there is nothing better than when you finish a shoot and your results are exactly what you set out to capture! For all of you who know Jaden, I hope you can look at these pictures and say to yourself, that they really reflect who Jaden is. For Jaden, they were a little tough because it was in downtown Nanaimo and it was a little busy. Thanks Jaden for coming through for us, we know there were times you were a little uncomfortable but it sure does not show in your pictures. You look simply marvelous.
